New Year, New Gig - Worldgolf column

Happy New Year!

I hope you all had a safe and festive New Year celebration and that 2007 brings great things for your lives and golf games.

To start my own year, I have accepted an assignment with Worldgolf to write a monthly column. My first effort is now posted on the site. Since the words I wrote for it technically don't belong to me anymore, I can't post them here, but here is the link if you'd like to have a look.

When the editors asked me to do this, I imagine they were expecting my usual style of writing that I generally apply to this blog and some golf course reviews I have shared with Worldgolf in the past. However, my first piece is somewhat of a departure from that style as I chose a more "poetic" slant to start the new year. If you take a peek, I hope you enjoy it!

There will be a new item from me every four weeks over there and I have been told I can write about any golf topic I choose. If there is a topic you'd like to see me cover, I will welcome your suggestions! Just post a comment here or send me an e-mail.

I look forward to another year of playing golf and writing about it here and for Worldgolf (and maybe elsewhere). Thank you so much for sharing it with me and reading my little blog in 2006! I don't exactly make resolutions because they're made to be broken, but I do intend to write more about golf this year including posting here more frequently. Thanks for making me want to - I really enjoy it!

Happy 2007!

First, congratulations. But really my first thought was, there goes another. When in reality I think your writing belongs with the "Pros".
I am one of your quiet readers and enjoy your style and take on the game. Best of luck and I am glad to see you will keep up the Golf Chick gig as well.

Patricia - Thanks. They forced me to submit a mugshot, but I've got other pics of me out there. Few and far between, though! Happy 2007 to you.

Tom - I appreciate your kind words and for being a reader, quiet or not. Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere.

Luke - Thanks, I'll keep that in mind! Although, the writing is already a good substitute for when I can't get out to play for various reasons.

-Kristen

K - This is so awesome. I saw your article on World Golf and it kind of sounded like your association with them had morphed from freelance to a regular gig. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!
